We’re seeking a skilled Senior IT Support Technician to provide 2nd line support across a hybrid IT environment. You’ll act as an escalation point for 1st line support, resolving complex technical issues across networking, cloud services, servers, and end-user devices. This role is ideal for someone with strong troubleshooting skills and experience with Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, and Windows Server environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide 2nd line support for escalated IT incidents and service requests

  • Troubleshoot issues across networks, cloud platforms, servers, and end-user devices

  • Support Windows Server (AD, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy), Windows 10/11, and macOS

  • Administer Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 environments

  • Diagnose and resolve network issues (LAN/WAN, VLANs, VPNs, firewalls)

  • Identify recurring issues and implement long-term solutions

  • Contribute to IT projects, system improvements, and documentation

  • Support and mentor junior team members

Experience & Skills Required

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a 2nd line or senior IT support role

  • Strong knowledge of networking (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPNs)

  • Experience with Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365

  • Solid Windows Server administration experience

  • Experience supporting Windows and macOS devices

  • Familiarity with ITSM/ticketing systems

  • Strong troubleshooting, communication, and problem-solving skills

Desirable:

  • Microsoft, CompTIA (Network+/Security+), ITIL, or Cisco (CCNA) certifications

 

This role is permanent, working 37.5 hours a week. This role is based at our Group Support office in Christchurch but the role will involve regular travel to multiple locations.
