The Senior Course Manager is a pivotal role responsible for leading all aspects of golf course maintenance and the greenkeeping team to ensure the course is consistently presented to the highest standard. The goal is to maintain Crane Valley as one of the best golf courses in the County hosting major county events.
In addition to responsibilities at Crane Valley, the Senior Course Manager will also provide oversight and support to the maintenance department at Bulbury Woods Golf Club. This includes close collaboration with the Course Manager and regular on-site engagement, with a minimum of two half-day visits per month to work alongside the team and support continuous improvement.
Job Skills & Requirement:
Essential:
- Strong agronomic knowledge with a minimum Level 3 qualification in Sports Turf Management
- Proven experience in a Head or Deputy/Senior Greenkeeper role (minimum 3 years) with example of continual improvement
- Strong leadership and communication skills with proven ability of developing teams
- PA1, 2 and 6a spraying certificates
- Project Management – proven experience of delivering golf course projects
- Irrigation experience
- Proficient knowledge in relevant health and safety and environmental standards
- A passion for the game of golf and understanding of golfer experience
- Commitment to continuous professional development and staying updated on industry best practices and legislation
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality standards
- Strong understanding of financial management, including budgeting, forecasting and cost control
- A Can-do hands-on approach
Desirable:
- Chainsaw and other machinery certificates
- Basic Mechanics
- Digger license
Remuneration: Salary is DOE and there is an additional performance related bonus.
This is a full time permanent position. The nature of our business necessitates that successful applicant may be required to work some evenings, weekends, and Bank Holidays.
