As Head of Health & Safety you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing health and safety policies across all sites. You will ensure legal compliance, conduct risk assessments, and promote a proactive safety culture throughout the organisation.

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement robust health & safety policies and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with UK H&S legislation, including risk assessments, fire safety, and emergency planning.
- Conduct audits, inspections, and accident investigations, sharing key learnings across the business.
- Deliver training and support to H&S coordinators, managers, and teams to embed a strong safety culture.
- Oversee all health & safety reporting, ensuring accurate documentation and continuous improvement.
- Work closely with department heads to integrate safety practices into daily operations.
- Stay ahead of regulatory changes, liaising with external bodies and ensuring best practices.
- Lead investigations into serious incidents, accidents, and food safety concerns.
- Manage H&S platforms, ensuring compliance and timely completion of actions.
Key skills and qualifications
- Proven experience in a Health & Safety leadership role, ideally in leisure, hospitality, or a similar industry.
- Strong knowledge of UK H&S regulations, including RIDDOR, COSHH, and risk management.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach.
- Ability to develop a culture of safety, training teams, and driving best practices.
- Exceptional communication and leadership skills to engage teams at all levels.
This role is permanent, working 37.5 hours a week. This role is based at our Group Support office in Christchurch, but travel will be required as part of the role. The successful candidate will also be expected to answer Health & Safety calls out of hours, and occasional weekend work may be required.
